Sited in the saddle between two mountains in the Blue Ridge , this family getaway features an open living area well suited for big family gatherings or as a quite getaway for a couple. The view to the north takes in the Shenandoah National Park, to the west the Shenandoah Valley. The kitchen features a large window with seat that invites in the winter sun.
With the use of rough cut oak post and beams and rough cut cedar brackets the design could be considered a meeting of vernacular farmhouse and mountain rustic. The interior features reclaimed heart pine floors in the entry and kitchen. The ceiling incorporates “found” beams salvaged from an old home in Appomattox.
